HOSE + COUPLING WORLD CONFERENCE & EXPO
OCTOBER 16TH, 2018
1:00PM–5:00PM

GEORGE R. BROWN CONVENTION CENTER – HOUSTON, TX, USA

As the Hose + Coupling World Conference and Expo approaches, NAHAD is getting ready to bring its hose safety knowledge to attendees. Here's your chance at a sneak peek of the Hose Assembly Essentials Course that attendees will have the opportunity to participate in.

This course will introduce participants to the complexities of hose assemblies, with particular emphasis on industrial hose, where the rules aren’t as clear cut as for other hose groups such as hydraulic hose.

Speakers include Rob Huber and Tony Widhalm, both of Gates Corporation, along with Gaylon Black of Dixon Valve and Coupling. Rob and Tony are both heavily involved as managers and instructors in Gates University which addresses a wide range of technical learning for both industrial and hydraulic hose. Gates University, offered at Gates' Customer Solutions Center, provides unprecedented levels of high quality, hands-on, comprehensive technical training.  Gaylon Black is an expert engineer and specialist in coupling products and solutions.262-190-1-uploads-content-image-2dvvwsj4-2

Topics will include:

  • How to design hose assemblies for the application with an emphasis on hose selection strategies.
  • Characteristics of various hose constructions with samples provided for some hands-on learning, placing an emphasis on special requirements in the oil and gas, petro-chem, and food and beverage industries.
  • How to actually make a hose assembly, followed by what you need to know about handling and routing, troubleshooting, hose inspections, and overall hose management strategies.
The course will conclude with case studies to reinforce the learning.

Why attend?  Hose assemblies aren’t just commodities to be replaced when they fail.  Depending on the application, failure can have far-reaching implications for keeping your operation running, environmental spills, or human safety.  Knowing how they work, what to demand from your supplier, and how you need to manage these resources can save money, and even lives, in the long run.
